I am excited to announce that I have joined the Board of Directors of the Cherokee Family Violence Center in Canton, Georgia.
The Cherokee Family Violence Center (CFVC) is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to help those impacted by intimate partner violence. CFVC operates a 72 unit transitional housing apartment complex, a separate 12-bed emergency shelter and provides comprehensive programs for children and teens as well as a multicultural program and a legal advocacy program.
In 2017, CVFC:
Served 2,220 victims of domestic violence
Handled 1,314 calls to its 24×7 hotline
Housed 317 women and children
Filed 203 temporary protective orders
Provided 4,616 shelter bed nights to women and children
I am both humbled and honored to join the board of this incredibly important organization. I look forward to helping CFVC grow and provide even more resources to our community while fighting to end violence.
